Hey all!

For years people have argued over how often you should wash your hair. It's been said that washing your hair everyday strips your hair of its natural oils, and can therefore damage and dry your hair. Other people say how important it is to wash your hair every day to reduce product build up, and to keep your locks in tip-top condition.

It's definitely a personal thing. I know someone who washes their hair only every 2-3 days. Her hair always looks gorgeous and shiny - never limp or greasy. However for me, I HAVE to wash my hair every day or I end up looking like I've been dragged through a McDonalds fryer!

So whats the verdict? To wash or not to wash everyday?

The answer completely depends on some key issues that can affect the condition of your hair.....

>> How oily is your skin? Oily skin leads to oily hair, especially if you have a fringe or your hair touches your face a lot.
>> How often you use hair products? Extensive use of hair products such as gels and waxes can make your hair look greasy and limp.
>> How much you sweat. Hair after sweating looks pretty bad, so it's important to wash after working out.

So there's no rules to how often you should wash your hair to keep it in optimum condition. I would suggest to try and leave your hair as long as possible before washing, but if it looks truly awful, then don't be afraid to wash every day. Just make sure you use a conditioner every couple of days to help restore the oils in your hair to keep it from looking dry.

Till next time!
